FIVE RULES OF MOUTH SHUT BY STONECOLD

Mouthshut Rules by Stonecold .

I am still in my early days of surfing Mouthshut and writing a review like this is indeed a challenge for me. I am reading, rating and commenting the reviews of MS writers. After going thru a 100 0dd superb reviews and writing a few average reviews I came across with following conclusions…..

I WILL TRY TO SHARE SOME RULES OF MOUTHSHUT:

1) Film based reviews are much in demand than reviews on health and other topics:

RULE 1--------   IF POSSIBLE CHOOSE FILM RELATED TOPICS TO ATTRACT MORE READERS AND MORE HITS.

Well entertainment rules everywhere so the same rule is followed in MS. My personal experience was the same. I wrote my first review on cell phones than on Stress and finally on a film based topic. Many writers were not reading my initial reviews but once I wrote the Film Based review it was at least being read by a good number of writers. Don’t know the fate of this review. Even if you exclude some of the star writers its very difficult for a new writer to establish himself/herself with reviews on topics other than entertainment. You may end up writing a great review but what’s the use if you are not able to share it with a good number of readers. Even if you are new writer but writes something on Films, music or entertainment you will end up finding a good number of readers.

Even Mouthshut encourages the same. Well see the latest I-KNOX challenge is based on film reviews only. So even if Mouthshut is encouraging the writers to write on Film related topics so we can safely presume the first rule.

2) Sometimes the members assign you some partial ratings.

RULE 2-------- IF YOU WANT A “VERY USEFUL” RATING FOR YOUR REVIEW, RATE OTHER’S ARTICLE WITH A “VERY USEFUL”.

Another thing I noticed with a FEW (and I really mean a FEW ) writers only. If you rate their articles as “VU” they will surely visit your page and doesn’t matter how bad you have written, they will give you a “VU”.

Well one thing in support of this that you are encouraging the others to keep writing. Since no one is perfect and a man keeps on learning from his past mistakes. So we should always encourage others to write but that doesn’t mean we shall always assign a “VU” to other writers irrespective how bad the review is. Giving an honest “useful” with a right comment is always better than an encouraging “VU”.

3) Think twice before rating a review as “Not useful”.

RULE 3------- NEVER EVER DARE TO RATE AN ARTICLE WITH “Not Useful” RATING.

The stonecold says this… never dares to rate someone’s article with “NU”. If you can see my profile there is only one review on five most beautiful actresses by (don’t want to disclose her name) that I have assigned a “NU” rating.

Well I gave explicit reasons for assigning the rating but that offended her very badly.

She ended up writing a full-page comment on reply of my “NU” rating.

She not only explained me why and when we should assign the “NU” rating but also that Mouth Shut is not a friendly site. I thought my assigning a “NU” rating was taken by her as my attempt to become friends. Well that incident gave me a great shock and after that I thought that it would be better to skip a badly written review without assigning any rating rather than assigning a “Not useful”.

4) Sometimes readers doesn’t go through the review properly and end up assigning the rating.

RULE 4------- A RATING DOESN’T MEAN THAT THE READER HAS READ YOUR REVIEW PROPERLY.

Half knowledge is rather dangerous than no knowledge. Similarly half reading of the contents is rather worst than non reading.Another important thing I noticed from the comments sections that readers have rated a review and even commented on it without reading it properly.

One of the example is when I went through a review about 5 Actors and later on reading the comments section, one reader screwed the writer for including Sunny Deol as the worst actor. While that poor man list never had Sunny Deol but Bobby Deol. This was just an example sometimes in the comments section I have found writers reiterating the same thing again and again to different readers reason being the same.

5) keep writing you will get your due. Dnt play with other’s feelings

RULE 5-------- KEEP WRITING YOUR BEST AND SHARE YOUR OPINION.

Well keep writing honestly and share your opinion. But your opinion should not be biased and meant to insult someone.

ADVICE OF STONECOLD TO MOUTH SHUT:

If possible Mouth Shut should provide an opportunity to its writers where they can write some short stories imaginary or based on real experience. This will be different from writing reviews as this may relate to anything and will cover everything. This will provide aN insight view of THE imagination of a writer. Well if that becomes possible we may see a few sweet exciting and great short stories form the immensely talented writers of Mouth Shut. This is stonecold’s dream to write a sweet short story on love and share with everyone

I just reiterate my 5 rules of Mouth Shut:

RULE 1--------   IF POSSIBLE CHOOSE FILM RELATED TOPICS TO ATTRACT MORE READERS AND MORE HITS.

RULE 2-------- IF YOU WANT A “VERY USEFUL” RATING FOR YOUR REVIEW, RATE OTHER’S ARTICLE WITH A “VERY USEFUL”.

RULE 3------- NEVER EVER DARE TO RATE AN ARTICLE WITH “Not Useful” RATING.

RULE 4------- A RATING DOESN’T MEAN THAT THE READER HAS READ YOUR REVIEW PROPERLY.

RULE 5-------- KEEP WRITING YOUR BEST AND SHARE YOUR OPINION.

AT LAST STONECOLD REQUEST FOR A FAIR RATING AND COMMENT.
