Many of us believe industries are major sources of Air pollution but this is not entire truth. 45% of air pollution comes from dust sources and construction sites. Only 8% of air pollution comes from industries. People who stay close to a nearby construction building can easily understand the health effects. Many common construction projects are taken by small political leaders. Rules and regulations are not followed properly which adversely affects health of people in area. They dont care about health effects caused to public just to save money. Since last 1 year 6 momths a building is being constructed less than 50m away from my home. Many people in our buildings are facing common cold infections, allergies etc. Its impossible to cure them until the source of disease i.e construction projet is stopped. The old fashioned diesel engines really pollute the air badly. The infection cures by itself when we go outside for few days for picnic or some other reason. We have to forcefully use AC to filter the air. This solution can be used by us sice we have AC but what about other people who dont have money? The ppm count is very high near a construction site because dust is released in huge quantities into the atmosphere when a truck/dumper unloads the sand, soil, etc onto site. The authorities should strictly enforce the rules made to prevent health effects on public due to construction sites.
