**You are Hired**! These are the fateful words that a lot of us have heard, a lot of us want to hear and then some who’ll never hear! Ha ha …
So if you get hired or are working currently you will most surely have a boss! And your boss will surely have a personality of his/her own(for writing purposes lets use HE). After much research *(cough *Google* cough)* I have managed to gather information about the type of bosses.
But before I impart the knowledge to you let me tell you my idea of an Ideal boss
**11:00 am**** **
**Boss**(*As he enters the office*): Hi Angel! How are you
**Me**: Fine
**Boss**: When did you come in
**Me**: 10:30
**Boss**: Why? Don’t work so hard, I think you should come in by 11:00 – 11:30, don’t loose sleep over this. Oh here, I have brought some freshly brewed coffee, you must try it….
**Me**: Wow! This coffee is Awesome!(*Its coffee…it has to be great!*)
**Boss**: Glad you like it…How about I just buy you some everyday(*Goes away*)
**1:00 pm******
**Boss**: Angel How about lunch, we are going as a team wanna join?
**Me**: Sure(*Nekki aur pooch pooch?*)
**4:00 pm**.
**Boss**: Hey listen, I am going, its boring here in office. You should go home too
**Me**: Na, have some thing to get done, will probably leave around 6:00
**Boss**: No don’t worry, come in early tomorrow like you did today at around 10:30 and get it done.!(*leaves*)
**Next day ****3:00 pm******
**Boss**: Angel, the management and me are very happy about the way you work and your dedication and how you come early, stay late in office etc etc. So with my recommendation we have decided to **triple your salary, give you any car you choose, and how about if we buy you a House? **Oh by the way Take the day off!
**Me: **Yipeeeeeeeeeeee!
**Yeah right! Like IT’S gonna happen!**
**Back to reality**!. Here are some real world bosses.(*Crappy real world ***Brooding****)
**Types of bosses**
***The Master***: The Manager who thinks he is your **MASTER** and you are his personal **SLAVE** and will make sure that he treats you that way.
**1*.How to recognize***:- He talks, you listen it is as simple as that. He needs to control your every move and the more you cringe the more his self-esteem is boosted. He has low regard for you, is suspicious of your every move and **feels the need to constantly watch you like a Hound**! He delegates work to you way below your ability and will instantly take credit when the work is appreciated by someone else. He make the decisions and you listen.
***Your options***: Burn out or Quit!
**2*.The Lame Wolf***:- Hostile and submissive; Wary and apathetic this kind of boss likes to keep his distance.
***How to recognize***: - He is more concerned about maintaining a good rapport with all around him hoping to maintain status quo. He lets people do what they want, not out of any great respect for them but just because he does not like to get into any kind of confrontation. He dosent care how you Utilize or waste your time. **Do not expect this boss to ask for your help, your opinion or for that case to explain anything to you, just incase he offends you in some way.**
**3*.The Cuddly Bear*** - Warm and submissive.
***How to recognize***:- He wants to be liked by you and everyone around. Pleasing people is more important to him than challenging them. You may find his goals not very challenging and thus easily reached. He will always be willing to revise his goals set for people to accommodate them in every which way possible. What you may find difficult is the fact that, with this manager you will not be able to talk about anything near being constructive, because he will only want to talk about pleasant things. **Rest assured that anything that is even border’s a possible conflict, he will avoid like it’s the plague**. This type of manager engenders little passion or productivity.
***Your options***: Self Motivation and being self critical
**4. *Miss Perfect*** - warm and dominant. How to Recognize: she will be one of the most active and decisive in your professional world. At the same time her concern for her sub-ordinates compels her to challenge each of them and set high standards for them at an individual and at the team level. She will rally with upper management for autonomy for her employees and will be actively involved in their growth within the department and the organization. Being very goal-oriented herself she will be a forerunner to boost productivity and will successfully achieve this by drawing on both the individual’s and team’s intellectual capital.
***Your options***: Stay put and bask in her capability!
(Notice the female gender….Muhahahahaha…**Women Power**!)
Bosses fit into one of the above mentioned categories, or are probably a combination of one, two or all categories. None the less we either love them or hate them! How ever we feel about them….we have to put up with them nonetheless!
Coming back to my fairy tale, I am thinking since my Boss did TRIPLE my salary, buy me the BEST CAR and bought me a Sea-facing BUNGALOW; I think I will now **RETIRE!**
