One buys a air-conditioner for comfort and for a perfect cool and noise free environment.I also wanted this and hence decided to buy a Videocon window airconditioner, model No VAW-1823.Wow the specification were great 1.6 tons, rotary compressor, ionizer, remote, highest EFR, etc.But dreams are dreams.My friends and people who had a knowledge of airconditioners and had used videocon airconditioners adviced me against it.But love is blind, so I went ahead and booked two units.What then started was a sleepless orderly, and the experience not only gave me sleepless nights , but shattered my belief and trust in videocon, and cemented my belief that a product which is cheap ultimately gives you cheap satisfaction.First the model that was delivered to me was not the one I had asked for, then the model sent was without a ioniser, when I confronted the area manger, I was told this is better, but when I explained that I required a ioniser, replacement was sent , out of which one was a used unit.After installation I learnt a lot about music as both units make a array of sounds and when the compressor starts you get the expierence of being in a airport, and when it disengages it disengages you from what ever you are doing, and the vibration it makes can put any stone blaster to shameand at night if you run them, the units protest by making sound, and if you are still adamaent on running it, your neighbour’s ring your bell to inform you that what you think is music is a noise coming from the airconditioners, and it is disturbing them.When I called up the service representative a cool reply was that the installation was not proper, yup he is right my installation of the idea of buying a videocon AC was not proper.I was wise to have bought a machine which gives me sleepless nights.If any one suffers from a tendency of being sleepy , thse are the airconditioners recommended.
