We bought an electric chimney in Oct 2005 from Faber (Model Prima plus with 1000 units of suction power). I agree that the product is good but at high speeds its a nuisance, though effective in removing all smoke. There are four speeds out of which top two speeds are noisy that one has to shout and talk. We showed it to their (reluctant service personnel) and they said it is normal.
Anyone who wants to buy an electric chimney should be ready for it. The product is otherwise effective but their SERVICE IS PATHETIC. Do not even count on them. I told their service department that I wish to speak to someone senior enough and not to a supervisor level person. Imagine what he said , ’’ OUR SENIOR PEOPLE SIT IN ITALY THEY CAN’’T TALK’’ :D
They not only messed up our simple looking installation (another story) but also kept following up for their peanuts (Rs.330) which I didn’t pay for the shoddy work. The guy even threatened that the warranty will not be effective if that is not paid. Being an engineer myself I went up the ladder to help the guy in installing the system.
However the product is sturdy and effective. Thankfully you don’t need their staff to maintain it unless you need parts. But I must add its such a simple thing to manufacture and I wonder why and how they manage to sell it at the prices they do. Baffle filter are surely effective and easy to clean. I suggest buy it and wring them for a better price as this thing is manufactured at ridiculous fraction of what they charge us.
