Hero Honda Splendor VS Bajaj CT-100.
Firstly I want to discuss a little about these bikes. These two bikes were mainly targeted for middle class and average minded people. The main purpose of these two bikes was mileage. We frequently see these bikes on the road. These bikes are certainly not for speed lovers. Both of them are alike each other. I am considering the factors such as Styling, Comfort, Engine and transmission and Mileage.
Now lets go for the fight!
Firstly Styling:
Splendor:
Splendor is average looking. It has got good colors. Among the all colors released the best are Red and Blue with silver. The graphics are pretty good. The domb of splendor is low. Hence it does not give a sporty look. It has a metal grip behind which is average to look. The head light in splendor is worst. Wonder why Hero Honda selected that model. The tail lamp is good to look. The fuel tank is plain with out any designs. The silencer is placed in a straight manner. The seating of this bike is good. The indicators of this bike are also good.
CT-100:
Now Ct-100. The domb of CT-100 is highly placed. Thus it gives a little bit sporty look. It is similar to callibre 115. The only difference between Ct-100 and Callibre 115 is that 115 has two holes on its domb and the silencer. Coming to the point the silencer of Ct-100 is straight and little bit raised. The graphics are good. The colors of Ct-100 are not that good than of splendor. There are four colours. They are red, military green, blue and black. The best among them is the black and military green color. It has got a high back. The seating of this bike is also good. It has a alluminium grip which is silver in color and is great in looks. The head and tail lights are great. The indicators are sharp and are good.
Comfort:
Splendor:
I haven’t heard any one talking about splendors comfort. Hence I tried it out on my own. The suspension of this bike is good but not as good that of CT-100. The handle bar of this bike is high and is good to handle. The seat is well enough good so that a normal sized person can easily sit comfortably on it. The seat is a little bit high than Ct-100. That means no problem for height persons. The road grip of splendor is worst. Hence it is a half comfort bike.
CT-100:
The comfort of Ct-100 is one of the good points in Ct-100. It has got the new type of suspension named SNS. It means that spring in spring suspension. The suspension of this bike is damn good. I thank heartfully bajaj for introducing such good technology in suspension. Now to the road grip. The road grip of this bike is good. It has got broader tyres than splendor. That means more road grip. It does not skid at all. The seat of Ct-100 is also broad. But not that of splendor. The wheel base is also big.
Engine and transmission:
Splendor:
This bike is a 4 stroke bike. It has got four gears. Splendor is mainly noted and well known for its engine durability. The ride of this bike is smooth and comfortable. The gear shift of this bike is smooth. The Hero Honda company has introduced a new generation of engines named Quantum core. I have listened many complaints on this engine. Hence this legend is killed. I forgot this is a 100 cc bike.
Ct-100:
As the name only says that this bike is a 100 cc bike. It is a four stroke bike. The gear shift is very smooth that any of the other bikes. The ride of this bike is smooth. It has the normal engine. Its engine is also long lasting. I feel angry that Bajaj did not give this bike a DTS-I engine. But still it goes on……
Mileage:
Splendor: This bike was meant for mileage. But the introduction of Ct-100 reduced the demand. It gives a mileage of 60 in normal city ride conditions. The mileage on high way increases and goes up to 70. The mileage also depends on the riding conditions.
CT-100:
I thought to kick the sales manager as he said that this bike gives a mileage of 100! But after all my examination the mileage of this bike was found to be 85-90 in normal city riding conditions. On high way it gives 100. So it dominates all the bikes in mileage.
Good points:
Splendor:
Mainly known for is brand name and quality.
Engine durability.
Good looking.
Ct-100:
Highly economical.
Less priced.
Great mileage.
Sporty look.
Bad points:
Splendor:
Quantam core engine.
Less broad tyres.
Alloy wheels!
Ct-100:
Very light vehicle.
Short vehicle.
Alloy wheels!
P.S: Splendor means both the versions of splendor. Splendor classic and Splendor+
