WoW!Palio is coming!World Class Car, small car pri

Anyone planning to buy a car in small segment - hold on to your pockets.PALIO is coming. Oh man.this car is certainly promising. Why.let’s evaluate the small car segment quickly.

  1. Maruti 800 - let’s not even talk about it now.too old and lousy, although the cheapest.

  2. Zen - fantastic car, but old.we all know the car too well by now. Buying a zen now is like going back in time.

  3. Santro - technically a superb car, 999cc, 4 cylinders in line, 12kmpl(city), superb engine, . But the looks suck.big time.but then looks can be subjective!

4.Alto - Promising but I believe it’s only a spruced up version of zen.1061cc, 4 cylinders in line, 12.5kmpl(city), superb engine.but almost same looks as zen. Nothing new.same sore eyes. This car was launched 20 years before in Japan.and is coming to India now.oh man!

  1. Matiz - Cute looks but that’s all. Overpriced for it’s power and Daewoo Co. is in shambles.read my review on this.796cc, 3 cylinders in line.nah.not good enough.

  2. Uno and Indica - ah.forget it.they r too crude to be even mentioned.don’t wanna waste time.do we?

If u immediately wanna buy a car, go for Alto.but if u can wait till June.check out Palio.it is launching in June2001.

Palio is hailed as a world class car with a price tag of small car. It will directly clash with Santro and Alto on price while offering the same features. And it is designed by.Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro.yes sir.the same guy who designed Matiz. Palio looks cool too.

More on Palio.

1.Palio is giant Italian automaker Fiat’s baby.

  1. It is a part Fiat’s famous A178 world car range.

  2. Fiat Auto wants to build more than 10, 000 Palios in the first year with an impressively high local content rate of 85%.

4.Fiat has a 50 dealer network in India at present and is looking to increase that number significantly.

5.June2001 is being targeted as India launch of Palio.

6.Palio is designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro.

7.The ace in Fiat’s sleeve may be the diesel. The Italian giant is developing a high-tech 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo diesel which could find its way into the Palio if the economics of producing it in India work out correctly.

8.Palio will have a very aggressive price of under Rs400, 000

By way of comparison showroom prices in Delhi for the cheapest Uno are Rs344, 220 while the Santro is starts at Rs365, 415 and the new Maruti Alto at 315, 000.

9.It will come in three models, a top-of-the-line version with a 16-valve heart, a 1000cc version and a 1500cc version.

10.The two variants available in the 1000 cc car are the Economy Drive(ED) and the Economy Drive Luxury(EDX).

11.The 16V model, which is classified as a compact car, accelerates to 60 kph in less than five seconds and reaches 100 kph in ten seconds flat.

12.Fiat claims that the car can reach a maximum speed of 152 kph. But the best news about the Palio is its fuel efficiency. It delivers about 12.8 kpl in town and 17 kpl on the highway.

Interested.Check out how does Palio looks like.
