My first car was Gud old Maruti 800, after 6 years.sold it and upgraded to
Santro(bought in 2001). Till completion of 5 years it gave good performance and
full comfortable seating for 5 persons and no problem in 400 -500 kms. driving which
was max. I went.
Last July06 it suddenly developed serious problem while on highway
(when I was travelling with my family and kids)
it simply stopped and no starting possible by any means.
By towing we took it to nearest and frequently awarded BESTHyundai Authorised service
place. Initially they said its ignition coil failure and everything had blown off, viz. all bulbs, a/c fuse,
central lock system etc.then it was full 2 days newer problems were reported to me
by the service station staff. I was literally being taken for ride by
the BEST HYUNDAI SERVICE STATION. As they knew I was not from the city and was never going to come back to them. After starting of the car they said
that now even ECU( the 16 bit brain) has went dead. Total cost billed to me was
approx. Rs.42, 000/-
I asked for simple understanding as to what went wrong and brief technical explanation from
Hyundai by frequent e-mails but till date no explanation or response has came.
Its real pathetic state of affairs at Hyundai. This never happened with any of Maruti
service station.
