Be careful, research and ask around.

Narrow down your choices of cars before researching.  What do you want, a used or a new car?  A large or a small car?  When you get those all figure out, do some research on the car types on internet or books.  You can also ask friend and family for their experience with those type of cars.  Before you set your heart out for a particular car, find out which car would gives you the best miles per gallon.  Also find out what type of car suits your lifestyle.  Don’t just buy a car for it’s image, because you might be finding your money going down the drain.  When it comes to repair and new parts, it depends on where you live the price might differ.  In US, European cars cost almost twice as much for repair and parts.  Also, if you intent on buying car insurance, find out a car that would not cost a arm and a leg to insure for.  Always look within your budget and remember there is pro and cons on every car.  I could recommend some cars, but I don’t know their information in UK.  I like the Toyota Echo because it gives you about 40 miles per gallon on freeway, very easy to drive, and don’t cost much to fix.  Also very sporty looking and has a lot of room(for the 4 door version).  I also recommend the Ford Focus, again a very easy car to drive, also have great space inside.  I hope this is useful to you, hope you find the best car for you.
