Believe in the best.......

Like most car lovers, I fantasize about having a Ferrari, Mercedes or a Porshe. Though, I admit I am not in a position to buy any of these big cars but I like comparing them. So, during my free time I always used to do research about different models & used to compare them in all the possible way. Thus, I made some observations about the “good & the bad” cars in the market & now I think I am in a position to tell you guys what should be your basic requirement while choosing a car 4 yourself.

Here are some of the basic features of a car we all should check before purchasing any new models:

1)Safety Facilities: I know safety cell, anti-lock braking system(ABS), the airbags & the crumple zone are some of the safety breakthroughs Mercedes-Benz is responsible for. But nowadays these safety facilities are present in almost all the car models of all the companies. You should never compromise when it comes to safety facilities, as safety is something every motorist deserves.

2)Car’s Engine: Different car models have different Engine capacity. I would advice you all not to buy a car that has a very powerful engine. This is because when I bought TATA INDICA(petrol version) I was happy that its engine was powerful(1400cc). But now I think it was not worth a pick as its fuel consumption is too heavy(only 7/8 that too without A/C). I mean, if you want to use your car only in the Indian roads then go for car whose engine is not very powerful & at the same time not very weak also.

3)Pick-Up: Don’t expect your car to race at 140Kph in just 9 seconds as its not going to be of much use in the Indian roads. If a car races to about 90/100Kph in about 8/9 sec then it’s the best-suited car for you.

4)Price: This is the major factor most of us change our mind time & again while choosing a car for our self. Choose that kind of car for yourself that you can afford in long run. No use buying a Mercedes-Benz when you are living in a chawl…….

5)Fascinating colours: When INDICA came in the market it was only out with 3-colour option for its customers. Some companies attract its customers only with its different range of colours. If you are buying a car for yourself then even the colour of the car should be of you choice & not of the companies.

6)Power Steering: Power steering is one of the most essential feature in a car. It helps in easy control of the car in narrow lanes & makes driving a pleasure rather than a curse.

7)Luggage Space: One of the most common problem with the small cars are its Luggage Space. The Luggage Space should be big with a huge maximum capacity. It should also have a cover on the top to protect your cargo from prying eyes.

8)Exhaust Pipes: For a more exquisite drive feeling, the back exhaust pipe should be extra long & the exhaust cover should be able to enhance the vibration-damping capabilities. This quiets the sound radiated from the exhaust pipe.

9)Wheel Base: Wheel base is the distance between the axis of front & the rear wheels. The longer the wheel base, the more comfortable the rear seat passenger’s will be.

There are many other features which one should check & see before buying a new car for himself. Features like Maximum speed, Remote boot & fuel lid release, A/C,  Stereo, Power windows, after sales service provided by the car company, central locking, seat belts & many other.

The automobile industry was stagnant before the advent of liberalization of the Indian economy which took place in 1991.Before this the Indian market was consisted of a few players like Maruti udyog, Ambassador, Premier & etc…But in the current senario its very difficult to even guess the number of companies in the automobile industry. Thus, in this competitive market you have to be very careful while buying a car for family. So, if I were to buy a new car for myself I would read this review before going to the show-room.
