Well, we all love driving, at least I do. During our young age, we have that craving of owning a fancy sports car or a fancy bike, but thats just a craving. Majority of us do have a car and we love driving it especially at very high speed.
As such I dont promote speeding as I actually hate it, still for those people who love speeding, Ive a very good advice for them. I wont say that you all have to agree to my opinion, but thats the best that Ive got. Obviously, you have got to wear your seatbelts.
Imagine a situation where you are driving your car at a very high speed, and suddenly your cars brake fails. What would you do in that situation? Well, I would provide you with Three options:- 1. Pull the Handbrakes. 2. Put the car in the neutral gear. 3. Switch off the engine.
Just think on it and choose one option, and try to compare it with my opinion.
My choice is option 2, which I feel is the best option.
What if you choose option 1:-
If you are speeding(>80kmph) and the brakes arent working, and if you decide to pull the handbrakes, your car would definitely skid, and it would go into a couple of summersaults and you might run the risk of injuring yourself or even death. Pulling the handbrake is only an appropriate option if you are not speeding.
What if you choose option 2:-
Thats the best option as I had learned it from discovery channel. Putting the car in the neutral gear and just pressing the clutch would slow down the engine and the car would come to a halt gradually. The only thing that you will need to do is to dodge the incoming cars. I know that it would be little tedious but thats the best option you have.
What if you choose option 3:-
If you switch off the engine, your car would still be in the running state and eventually it won’t come to a halt. The speed at which you were driving your car would remain at that speed only and you would be helpless. By this it’s going to be a sure thing that you will meet with an accident. So turning off the engine would even be a worst option as you would feel completely handicapped.
So, I feel that I’ve offered you with a perfect advice on safety and if in case you find yourself in this situation you can try and remember my option.
BECAREFUL! Have a safe driving.
