Necessity’s the mother of invention, turned v. true and highly profitable for me recently, so want to share the following info. with fellow readers through you please, if you can.
On 22nd of Nov, 12 I called ICICI Lombard for renewing my auto policy expiring the next day.
A)Previous year Nov, 11, I paid Rs.4644/- (this was also more than what I paid while renewing in Nov, 10 due to ignorance)
1)on total value of Rs.1, 93, 000/-(IDV 1, 75, 000+ 18, 000 for LPG kit)
2)for own damage Rs.3145/- after deducting 20% no claim bonus(NCB)
3)for 3rd party Rs.1065/-
4)service tax Rs.434/-
5)thus paid Rs.4644/-
B)This year I was asked to pay Rs.6823/-
1)on total value(IDV) of Rs.1, 60, 000/-!
2)for own damage Rs.4938/- after deducting 25% no claim bonus(NCB)!
3)for 3rd party Rs.1135/-
4)service tax Rs. 750/-
5) thus paid Rs.6823/-
After getting the above absurd quote, (normally auto renewal premium goes down each year with IDV reducing and NCB increasing) I contacted Policy bazaar.com who had sent many mails to me earlier, who on getting my mail called me immediately, gave me the lowest quote from Bajaj Allianz as follows. I was pleasantly shocked and considering the above 3 criterias I renewed my policy with them, which was done very efficiently by the tele executive of Policy bazaar.
C)renewal with Bajaj Allianz cost me Rs.3326/-
1)on total value(IDV) of Rs.1, 86, 000/-(Bajaj don’t give policy below 1, 70, 000+16000 for LPG kit
2)for own damage Rs.1825/- after deducting 50% no claim bonus(NCB)
3)for 3rd party Rs.1135/-
4)service tax Rs.366/-
5)thus paid Rs.3326/-
After above renewal I sent them mail informing bout the above and asking them’to quote good rate as we’ve 3 more high value cars to be renewed in January, 13(Honda Accord), February, 13(Skoda Superb) nd March, 13(Mitsubishi outlander)’ who sent following reply after many reminders. As my insurance agent was saying that auto premium of Rs.40000/- was reduced to 28000/- of Skoda Superb by him, is all the above not cheating? From: customersupport@icicilombard.com
