Hi guys,
Cellphones...came as a communication device, then as a status symbol, and then we didnt know when it mingled with the existence of the sehri babu..these days seldom we see a person in the cities without a cellphone.
The cellphones have also evolved lately.
Two years back when I got a GPRS enabled nokia 3530 for Rs 7000/- (more or less the dealer price, standard pricing was Rs.9000/-) people used to look at the colour screens with an admiration and few days backone person was referring to it as a device of stone age :-)
Truly, in such a fast pace the mobiles have evolved and became dearer for the pocket as well.
The GPRS, 3G, EDGE, and so many new technologies are coming up.
But I wonder if its really so helpful for us the way the actual communication and data transfer is thought? or just these kind of facilities end up in downloading themes, polyphonic ringtones or transmission of MMS clips.
So many websites are coming up with wap enabled features...
I would just like to get a view of the general users how they find the gprs facilities....is it just a tool of beautification of the phones or truly the public has been utilising the facilities in their formal interests in their daily lives.
Still I find the scope of browsing is so limited with the general phones coming in the shape of the pocket of the common man. Working with different kinds of file formats, reading the attachments or sending the data is never as easy or possible like the normal i-enabled computer.
So whats your opinion....are these facilities truly useful for the public? Or is just another gimmick or a gaming tool?
