Is there need to join MBA entrance exam coaching ?

Hello Friends,

Many a times I see a big question mark on the faces of our young students who are pursuing their final year graduation and willing to go for MBA in their desired area of interest. Actually the question which is going in the mind of students is that should they join any coaching class for the preparation of MBA entrance exam or not.

I would like to answer this particular question and my answer is "NO".

Now take a long breath my dear friends because I am going back my answer with some vaid facts:

  • See, when a student is pursuing his/her graduation, at that time he/she can not decide his/her area of interest i.e., Finance, Marketing, HR, IT, etc. because none of you can decide your area of specialization until unless you enter in corporate sector.

  • Our society, seniors, etc. always misguides us by saying "that if you are very much talkative then you will have a good career in marketing and if you are good in calculations then you should go for finance and bla bla bla bla." . But it is not like that because your talkative nature can not decide that you can divert the mind of the customer to buy a particular product. Your excellent calculation skills do not reflect that you are gonna be a master in finance because finance is completely based upon analytical skills and on your decision taking skills, Finance person never takes decision so fast because he has to think on various parameters and then has to derive various outcomes and conclusions which should be backed by some valid facts and only then he can opt for best decision.

  • MBA entrance coaching classes always tries to divert your mind by saying that " MBA qualified candidates are getting RS 30, 000 per month". But remember none of the company is going to pay you on the basis of your certification.

-Normally, the people who are working in MBA institutes or running MBA coaching classes always try to push the students to go for MBA because they are going to feed themselves from the earnings of their institute and these institutes are going to earn by charging higher and higher amount from you guys.

Now the question arises in everyone’s of your mind that "What should I do after my graduation?" .

  • I just want to say that keep it simple.

  • After completion of your graduation better to establish yourself in one of the organization and try to find your area of specialization i.e., In which sector you are comfortable such as Finance sector, Marketing Sector, HR, IT, etc.

  • Try to gain an experience of minimum 1 year and then think that "is it really gonna worth if I will be opting to go for MBA?" .

  • Because according to me if you want to do MBA then try to take admission only in top 20 Colleges of India.

  • Purchase a book for CAT preparation and go through the syllabus which is covered in the CAT.

  • If you really find one of the genuine coaching class who are really going to teach you in a good manner then you can join that class or if you are comfortable then you can also do self-preparation at home.

  • Try to get admitted in IIM or other top institutes in INDIA.

  • According to me if you are not getting admission in one of the top 20 institutes then go for executive MBA from IIM after taking 5  years of experience. Candidates who are willing to go establish themselves in Finance sector should go for certification courses from NSE and BSE.

  • Marketing candidates should opt to do part-time MBA with taking experience parallely.

  • HR candidates should opt to go for full-time MBA.
