A short trip/vacation, away from the daily rat race is every familys eternal wish. Needless to say after all the pain staking effort from leave approval to final travel if the expectations of the trip are unfulfilled, travelers are heart broken.
Recently, a close friends family made detailed plan for a trip to Kerala. Since they have a school going kid they planned to include natural sight seeing facilities so that the kid may get excellent rendezvous with Mother Natures creativity.
On reaching their resort in Tekkeddy, they made inquiries and they were told about a very famous Tiger Safari Park. They were advised to reach the spot at 6 am in the morning to book ticket for the boat ride so that they can get seats with the best view on the boat.
The family, like a bunch of excited teen kids assembled at the place at 5:30 am and found them selves to be a part of dozens of similar groups. Then started the mad race and all kinds of payments to middle men to secure entry to the park.
On entry to the park, there was a 200 meter up-hill dash to reach the boat counter making more money and raising the expectations to mammoth size.
Finally, boat arrives and everyone is seated with eyes becoming size of football to see the amazing wild life!!!! The boat sails, keeps sailing only back ground sound is that of yawns, groans and moan of hungry stomachs and distressed comments of tired men who quit their bed at 5 am on a vacation day, ran the cross country , paid exorbitant money just to gaze at water way, trees. While the actual/imaginary wild life slept comfortably, the crowd of families ruined one precious day of their vacation running around in vain.
My friends genuine advice to the travellers is not to fall into this trap of Over Hyped " Tiger Safari Park "at Tekkeddy.
