I have been running a medical tourism company, for the last 3 years, and have come across various hospitals, not just in India, but around the world. We have specialized units helping patients around the world from simple dentistry to complicated liver transplants.
Its been a real boom in the field of medicine, although we have highly qualified surgeons existing, but they have been recognized because of this medical tourism.
My advice, out of my experiences,
When you choose a hospital, please ask for the surgeons profile, and the success rates he has on the procedures. Every hospital maintains this record, but we need to ask them!
There are many hospitals, in all the leading states in India, which is giving international care at an affordable rate. So please dont hesitate to approach or contact healthcare facilitators like us, who have the database of the profile of surgeons, and who will assist you from Airport Transfer till you reach home.
Search the net, for the surgery you are opting for. every surgery has detailed explanation, and gives you an idea about the procedure, and latest advancements in that specialty and international hospitals in India are equipped with latest technology, for example, Green Light PVP procedure, Da Vinci method Robotic Surgery, Endovascular Stenting, Brain Anuerysms, etc. approach the medical tourism companies like us, or ask your physician about these latest technology.
The benefit of these latest technology in medicine, is shorter stay in hospital, and some are even day care procedures!, its very useful for people who are above 60 years of old, who dont have to undergo traditional open procedures, but can opt for robotic surgeries, which can give them better success, lower risk or no risk at all, and quicker time frame.
I read many reviews about people being annoyed with some hospitals, I understand the pain when your loved one is hospitalized and when you dont receive the attention and care from the hospital authorities. But we need to realize, that we dont really opt for best surgeons and hospitals, and dont really do any research before we get admitted. Iam not arguing on medical emergencies, but surgeries planned by families.
Above all, inspite of us having one of the best healthcare system in the world, I feel youngsters dont appreciate the value or dont come forward to enter in this field of specialty. I get inquiries asking about USA, Paris, Norway, and SIngapore, when we have the same procedure done at a reasonable cost, infact by a surgeon who is highly qualifed and have a better success rate.
Learn more about our healthcare system in India, and spend time to know your own body functions, lifestyle plays a main role, which is directly related with our health, so eat healthy foods, avoid junk foods and alchohol, exercise and when I say exercise, I dont mean spending time in Gym, but even walking everyday in a Park, and not sitting with your computer for hours together, and having food at regular intervals in a day, and taking a bit of time for yourself to relax at the end of the day.
A healthy body reflects a health mind and a health life. And we are living in a choatic world and its a necessity to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Have regular health checkups, every hospital offers health schemes, wheathers its your kids, or parents or for yourself, know your health status, have dental checkups, and have a regular physician and keep in touch with them. Even a minute doubt can trigger to a major syndrome tomorrow, so dont neglect any unknown cause of pain, please consult the specialists.
In short, know your body, and know the hospitals and best physicians for every speciality around you, maintain your health, and have regular health checkups, and lead a health life!
All the best!
