Don’t buy any branded jewelry at all! Any branded jewelry bought carries a loss of 15-25% upfront because that is how much the brands will deduct if you sell the jewelry back to them. For e.g., if you were to buy a ring worth Rs. 5000 three years back from Gili, today you would get back only Rs. 4000 if you were to sell it back to them. No other brand or jewelry shop will buy it from you!
If you had bought the same ring worth Rs. 5000 from a traditional gold shop, you could have sold it back to ANY other jewelry shop for a minimum of Rs. 8000! Peace of mind and guarantee of appreciation.
In the face of this fact, I don’t know why people continue to buy so called branded jewelry? Did you also know that branded jewelry makers use inferior quality of stones(diamonds) and low caratage of gold(18 carats or less) in their products, but while pricing their products, they charge you the market rate of 24 carat gold and the price of perfect diamonds?
