I put in a request for porting of my two Vodafone numbers to Reliance on the 15th of June 2015. on The said date the Vodafone numbers were deactivated.
I put in the reliance sim to check if they were active. Sadly they were not. now I am in a position where I can not make a call or receive a call.
And both my numbers are business numbers. I had to go to the reliance store where I had put in the porting request.(The store is about 25 kms from my place). I told the person there of my issue and he offered to give me two new sim cards.
He asked me to wait till 3 pm that day and if the number was still not active then to call him back again. the number did get active at 3 pm. But that same night my out going was barred again. the next day I had to go to the store again.
This time I was told that the address verification had failed. I had received a call from the verification team and they had asked me the directions to my house which I provided them with. This was on a Saturday. I told them that no one was home as me and my wife both work.
They said that they will come on Monday. I sat at home all Monday and all Tuesday and still no verification. I checked with the store again and was informed that the verification had failed because they had tried to call me and my phone was busy.
Did they expect me to stop all calls and wait for their call for two days? And this was supposed to be an address verification not a telephonic verification. If I was unable to talk to them on the phone, they were supposed to come to the address and if that turned out to be a fake address then they should have failed the address verification. But I guess the Ambanis do the verification in a way that is different from all the other vendors/ providers in the world.
Now I am sitting at home again and this time I have already been sitting at home for the last three days but the verification is yet to happen. In the meanwhile both my numbers do not have outgoing calling facility. Thankfully Reliance has not barred my incoming facility.
I am sitting at home losing business every day and cursing the day that Anil Ambani was born. And then I curse the day I decided to port to Reliance. Now as soon as the 90 day period is over I am porting out to another provider. Vodafone was over billing and messing up in other services but at least the phones were working.
