Increasing net banking frauds in India

Just like where there are law makers there are law breakers and that too much more in number. As per a recent news article in Economic Times recently it was quoted that in India, Maharashtra tops in Net Banking Fraud followed by Delhi while the other states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Chandigarh have low profile. In the first half of the year, there has been tremendous rise in the internet banking frauds. Total amount(involving all amount) lost in fraud transactions in the last three years(2005-2008) is about Rs 7.62 crore. Against this, in the first six months of this fiscal alone customers have lost Rs 4.36 crore. The situation is alarming enough to keep us all aware about the security and safety measures when transacting online and especially when it relates to internet banking.

In the present era there is internet everywhere. We all work online. At times we feel so helpless without internet. Since we have everything but no time so what we value the most is convenience in terms of time and energy which internet does provide us.

There is tremendous rise in the usage of internet in India in the present era. Subsequently there is increase in the online banking options as well as shopping sites that has rose the concern of internet security much more.

But do we ever ask ourselves how secure are we transacting online?
