I had bought the Sony DSC H-5 just six months back, and when I got to take photography seriously, the batteries conked off. Then when I wanted to charge them the charger gave way. When I contacted the Sony World distributer I was told that since the product was already sold it was for the service centre to try and rectify my problem. When I contacted the service centre THAT OPENS AT 10 O’ CLOCK AND CLOSES AT 7 O’ clock , I was told that the charger alone would cost me three thousand rupees. And THE ACCESSORIES ARE NOT CONSIDERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY.
When I bought a Memory stick I was given a warranty of one year supposedly to justify the higher price of the Sony original memory stick. Also note that with all Sony products Ur’ advised to use only original accessories lest the cheaper alternatives damage your ’SONY PRODUCT’ supposedly thought to be superior.
I feel that Sony India is out there to fleece you of your money and are trying to dump their ’Chinese products’ into India without giving quality that we deserve for the price.
