Traffic rules in Delhi : Decide Yourself

*The recent Traffic rules in Delhi are nearly one month old and these are some of my observations of its impact to the traffic scenario .

My daily driving is around 100 KMs in and around Delhi:

The Good: There is a definite shift in the careless attitude that we delhites are known for in terms of safe driving .

Everybody is using Seat belts now: wonder because of the Rs600 fine .

Rash Driving is  rare as compared to the scene a month back: Good Job

Lane driving: A la Chandigarh, really heartening to see the cars on the ring road in a perfect lane.

Horns & Loud music: Definitely there is drop in the noise level . Earlier all the private buses and trucks were honking loudly and uselessly, this has come down .

Loud music in the cars is also rare and if there is any the people inside the car ensure the windows are rolled up: Great .

The Bad:Though the situation has improved but then you are not able to use your mobile even with your hands free and blue tooth on: Challan Rs600 is little harsh because no matter how best you avoid but there would be some instance when the incoming call is absolutely important.

By not allowing even the 10-20% black tinted films the best effects of Air conditioning is lost and then the you loose out on privacy also . It feels your car has become public property .

The Ugly: This is the part you will love . The traffic cops are having a real blast with the challans going up from Rs100 to Rs 600 they are offered 150-200 for not issuing tickets which a month back was 50-100.

anyways I think this is for good that the traffic rules are made tough the situation on roads was really bad, anything which improves the traffic and brings down the accidents, traffic jams or any other crime on the road is bound to be cheered .

Decide yourself and do let me know!
