Upcoming Car Launches in India



  1. Volkswagen Beetle




When to expect: 4th December 2009


Estimated Price: Rs 15-18 lakh


India


will get its first official taste of the Bug when the Beetle officially makes


its way into India


in December. VW is keeping mum about the engine specs, but judging from the


engine options available worldwide, it will probably have either VW’s


1.6-litre, 100bhp petrol from the Jetta or the 1.8T

Fiat Bravo


When to expect: Late 2009


Estimated Price: Rs 18-25 lakh(estimated)


The Fiat Bravo is Fiat’s new small family car that was


introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007. The car was designed by the Fiat


style centre and Austrian automotive company Magna Steyr was involved in


engineering most of the car’s body and fittings.

Fiat Linea 1.6 Multijet


When to expect: Early 2010


Estimated Price: Rs 11 lakh


The styling of the Fiat Linea is widely appreciated,


however, its power-to-weight ratio has disappointed many. So, for the


performance enthusiasts, the Fiat Linea will available with a 1.6-litre


Multijet engine sometime next year.




  1. Hyundai Santa Fe




When to expect: 2010


Estimated Price: 23-26 Lakh


SUV. One term which not many will associate the Korean


giant - Hyundai with. It is that segment of the auto industry


which is tantamount with big, brawny, imposing looking machines to which the


word ‘car’ will not really be able to do justice.

Corolla Altis CNG


When to expect: Late 2009


Estimated Price: Rs 13.5 lakh


After the Toyota Innova CNG, the Corolla Altis is the next


Toyota in India


to get a CNG variant. The Corolla Altis CNG will have sequential injection


and the pressure of injection will be 2.0 bar, as opposed to other cars which


inject at a pressure of 0.8 bar.

Chevrolet Beat


When to expect: Late 2009


Estimated Price: Rs 3-5 lakh

Chevrolet is working on for the Indian market.

The Beat has a new refreshing looks. The design follows the new Chevrolet


trend of having a sprawling front grille featured in the upcoming Chevrolet


Cruze as well.

Tata Indicruz


When to expect: August - September 2009


Estimated Price: Rs 8-10 lakh


Toyota


built the Innova, Mahindra built the Xylo. So why will Tata stay quiet? Tata


is building it’s first-ever MUV the Indicruz. The Indicruz will compete with


the Toyota Innova and the Mahindra Xylo.  Tata’s car profile will have


some more variety with this Multi-Utility Vehicle.

Volkswagen Touareg


When to expect: Mid 2009


Estimated Price: Rs 52 lakh


After the Passat and the Jetta, Volkswagen will now


officially introduce the Touareg, its first SUV for the Indian car market.


The Touareg is currently available as CBU under special imports and as such


cannot be registered as a company car, and the delivery period is 3-3.5


months.

Honda CR-V Diesel


When to expect: 2011


Estimated Price: Rs 22.5 - 25 lakh


With the current diesel engines being quick, silent and


efficient; they are giving the petrol engines a run for their money. After


manufacturing only petrol engines for decades, Honda has produced its first


diesel engine to boost its sales.




  1. Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel




When to expect: Early 2010


Estimated Price: Rs 7.5 - 8.5 lakh


Maruti Suzuki’s men were back in the form of the SX4 with


a 1.6l engine powering the car with 101 horses. The SX4 design is suitable


for Indian roads with its high ground clearance


and 15-16 inch tyres.

Corolla Altis Diesel


When to expect: Late 2009


Estimated Price: Rs 11-14 lakh


One of Toyota’s


worldwide best selling Toyota Corolla entered the Indian car market more than


half a decade ago. Sometime back, the Corolla got revamped to Corolla Altis.


The Corolla Altis got a new front grille, hood, lights and a few more add-ons


here and there, making it look more like the typica.

Mahindra-Renault Sandero


When to expect: Late 2009


Estimated Price: Rs 5 lakh


The Sandero is Renault’s next project for India after it launched


the Logan,


which is commonly sold in Europe


as Dacia Logan. The Renault hatchback will feature petrol and diesel


variants.

Nissan Murano


When to expect: Early 2010


Estimated Price: Rs 35-40 lakh


The name ‘Murano’ originates from the region of Venice, Italy


which is known for hand blown glass production. The Murano was nominated for


the North American Truck of the Year award for 2003 and even named the best


premium mid-size SUV by Auto Pacific.

Estimated Price: Rs 4.5- 6 lakh


After launching the Jettas, the Passats and the Touaregs;


the first VW hatchback will hit the Indian roads. The Polo is a premium


hatchback that will be manufactured from the recently inaugurated Volkswagen


plant in Chakan.
