Delhi-the heartless city

: There are lots of reviews about Delhi- its history and places of importance.so I am not going to that path. Rather I will just try to add some points what Alok-sr has written in his review on the city. Delhi unlike any other metros does not have any culture of its own.

Over the ages people from different part of the country(most of them are from Bihar and Punjab) have come here for a living and settled. Surprisingly, none of them today have any sense of ownership for the city. Consequently we see no real concern in any area. With due respect to all educationist and considering the fact of the presence of some of the India’s best education-centers in the city, Delhi lacks the real educational flavor and knowledge in general.

Students as early as the stage of class eleven or twelve start involving themselves in rat race of money making or start enjoying his/her family business. I don?t deny the fact these people can go on becoming countries biggest millionaire but does it all that we require for a healthy and developed nation? Consequently, you see the most uncultured, unsocial, criminals on the roads of Delhi. You will here the most abusive and rough language people are using in buses, streets and all public places. You will find on of the unsafe place for females in Delhi.

Whether an old man is abused or bitten, a woman is raped, a man is stabbed and robbed in the day light, you wont find a single person coming for help(you will be lucky if they are not already supporting the criminal as it happens in most of the cases.) Another important aspect of the city is its’show-offs’. If you are an outsider, specially from the state of West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Maharashtra or Tamilnadu you will be hit by an extreme overdose of this’show-off’ culture among the Delhite.

A marriage reception wont welcome you with smiling face and open heart or a welcome hug but of course, you will see a large hall with every possible decorations, number of food items and above all sound of Punjabi-’pop’ songs playing at their loudest volume possible till 2:00 clock in the night. not to talk about unlimited drinks and drunks dancing in the tune of that unworldy tune to celebrate a culture know only to them.

Of course, people do come to Delhi.I have come to Delhi. Because they have to.because I have to.Career options.if career is the mantra in your life do come to Delhi and be ready to pray thousand times in a day -’kuch pane ke liye saab kuch khona parta hai.’ For the tourist? do come to Delhi stay for one/two days and rest of things see in your television, I promise you wont be at a loss.
