Hi Friends! here comes Bush once again with full force on MS. This time a topic which is not making headlines of newspapers, or is topic of discussion on TV debates or on forums but sooner or later it will be, yes I am commenting on part of callcenter population which is half educated and Immature. Here what I mean by half educated or immature is:
college going students who are doing full time jobs and part time colleges,
unsuccessful student leaving their education halfway and just getting lured by salaried job offered to them.
People with expertise in different fields getting attracted towards the glamorous call center life and money.
All these things contributing to negligence towards education and in a way if I have to create new phrase to explain it I would saybonsaiing the talent. This makes us discuss the topic on a different note, its not going to be simply the pros and cons of it but it becomes very important to see how it is emerging and heading which way in order to understand the carrier path of lacs of people on outsourced industry.
If I have to analyze the positive and negatives first, I can put it straight like this:
- tives
# Most important thing is we are loosing on our valuable intellectual capital.
# Good percentage of population is involved in an industry with shorter life cycle hence increasing the risk of sudden collapse.
# Typical callcenter lifestyle giving rise to many hazards such as Health problems, Extrme Stess conditions, stretched relationships, Addiction to cigarette or alcohol even drugs just to come out of routine etc.
+ tives
# Money, .more money.
# Working in a globalised environment, good infrastructure good lifestyle.
# Abundence opportunities in terms of employment, currency .( At this instance).
If we see by economy point of view surely the rise of outsourcing industry has given many more+ tives, it has provided India with tremendous opportunities in terms of jobs and Foreign currency but it has its own share of offering on darker side too.
But nothing comes free in this world, so the challenge lies in we being ready to accept and understand the reality and to face the coming situations proactively.
The emergence of this industry can be attributed to many factors such as shortfall in manpower with resp. country or significant price difference between service offerings but looking into future developments we cant really predict a stable path for this perticular sector and keeping in mind that, it becomes very essential for us to be very flexible in our approach to these jobs and this should be followed from grass root level.
*What is that we need to take care of?
- Education / Expertise **- Every indivisual should aspire to have atleast some kind of competence which can carry him long way.
Proactive career building **- Other than looking at callcenters in negative side use it to your positive strength butdont forget the first one.
Be knowledgable, keep your eyes and ears open for opportunities in different sectors keeping your interest area in mind.
*Final foot:
Try to be creative and act proactive.*
