I wanted to write this on Friday, but due to some virus attack and my internet being down for 2 days - I am posting it today.
*Scene 1:*
Two guys in an Almost New Wagon R, going back home in the mid of the night after an eventful day in the office. Since they work in the night shift, are pretty cool about night driving, almost all the red lights of the city(Hyderabad) work like blinkers and traffic moves more on understanding, I shall give u a pass and you give me a pass, no honking and no racings. They reach one of the Major crossings of Hyderabad - the Hyderabad Central Shopping Complex red light, where the office of SP City Traffic is right there, the one who is driving pushes the break slowly to look at the right side and on the left side to check if some vehicle is coming, the other guy is checking his mobile to give a ring to his wife on home number, so that she opens the door while they reach home, suddenly they feel an earth shattering thudddd - and BANG! There car crosses the red light being dragged by a Toyota Qualis from behind for about 10 odd meters, by the time they realize what has happened, the other driver who hit them from the back zooms in his vehicle and drives like crazy towards the other side to save himself from being bashed in the mid of the night. Poor Wagon R guys after loosing their bumper in the accident try their Hard Luck to chase the Qualis but since the driver is a local guy - he gets off un hurt un touched, Police is still sipping tea while they return back to the crossing as if nothing had happened, they go home and sleep. Next day they call up the Insurance guy for repairs and damages.
*Scene 2: **Two Bikes - Two Night Crawlers, talking while they return back from their respective offices, they stop their bikes since the Traffic Light is showing Red signal - they seem to be responsible citizens, suddenly comes the screeching sound and BANG! There comes the Tata Indica and hits one of them from the back, guy on the bikes fly’s a little before crash landing and his helmet going like a foot ball to the other side of the road, what follows is two guys coming out of the car, bike guys start talking, arguing, what not, police is still sipping tea. They go home and sleep, next day they go to the Hero Honda Service Center to get the bikes repaired.
*Scene 3: **You must have read this one in yesterdays news paper - An infant killed in front of her school - while getting on the school bus. by a heavy vehicle, even the guy who came to rescue of the child after seeing the approaching vehicle had been dragged 20+ feets before getting seriously injured, three more kids were injured and are being treated in a Hospital.
*Scene 4: **Routine 6 PM scene on one of the busiest roads of Hyderabad, coming from Kukatpally going towards Hyderabad Central, width of the Road 15 feets on either sides, it takes good One hour to drive almost 4-5 KMS, lots of Buses, Cars and Bikes, Blaring Horns, People Criss Crossing in between to cross the roads while the traffic crawls, everybody driving either in First or Second Gear. Nothing could be done for this, since the Road is very busy and no way that they can build a Flyover Overnight.
I was the guy checking my cell in the first Scene, Second bike scene I saw live while crossing the Chauraha on my way back to home, third I read today as the headlines of the city - Hyderabad. Fourth is what happens and I see daily while going to my office.
I don’t think I can give any kind of Advice / Views in here, this is more than enough to understand the scenario / situations in here in our country, every other metro and big city is facing the similar situation.
