Bryan Adams, didn't Got Up to the Fans

Bryan Adams is back, but not with the bang! His 13th studio album is the quietest album of all. As the singer says, the recording and mixing of the album was not done in any studio. It was done by passing the tracks to each person involved in the making through internet.

His last album of original material ‘11’ came out in 2008. It was a bunch of forgettable acoustic songs which was poorly received by both fans and critics. The good news is this one is not as bad as its predecessor. The listener will have to listen without prejudice. He should not expect anything similar from his 80s or 90s albums. The songs are made with an old rock and roll touch of 60s. If you can appreciate that then you might enjoy this album.

The opening track ‘you belong to me’ clearly gives the listener a hint what is the album all about. A couple of guitars strummed fast, with some feeble drumming and superficial https://lyrics. It might remind you of the music of Beatles in the black white days. May be that’s what Bryan Adams was trying to say with the B&W album cover. ‘That’s rock and roll’ is the 4th track on the album. This should be the title of the album. This song describes the spirit of the album. The only ballad on the album ‘yesterday was a dream’ is an easy listening one but doesn’t stand closer to the big fat classic ballads BA has produced in 80s & 90s.

The album ends with the title track. Which he says was written at the last minute of the album. Probably he felt that the album has got nothing for his fan so he put a song which has similar chords as of Summer 69. It also has similar lyrics like ‘Jody had a plan’. This is the only song where there is some energy and it feels like a BA song.

To conclude, this is not an album for the Bryan Adams Fans. It’s an album for audience who can appreciate rock n roll music. With just 9 new songs on the album and a total length of nearly 25 minutes, it seems like BA has run out of ideas for the songs. Sorry fans, you will have to continue your wait for a good entertaining rock album from Adams.
