Don't try to cure a hangover; prevent it

The best way to avoid a hangover is to simple - just don’t drink.

But that’s not the topic, so let me pontificate a bit from experience.

Here is a sure shot way of preventing a hangover.

Before you start drinking alcohol, have a large glass of water - drink it slowly, let the saliva mix as if you were "eating" the water. This will alleviate the detrimental effects of dehydration, acidity etc and restore the balance in your stomach.

Choose your drink as per the colour of the day  [ light beer, gin, vodka in the afternoons, and darker drinks like whisky, rum as the sun downs ]. Dilute well with water and drink slowly and eat heavy small-eats - a plate of kababs for every drink is a good ratio.

After you finish your drinking have another large glass of water just like the first one. Then proceed for your meal. And, most inportant, don’t drink after your meal!
