My suggestion is quite simple. Drink water. Lots and lots and lots of water. I had bad skin since I was too young to understand why my face looked so weird compared to everybody else. It stayed that way until I worked a summer job where I was outside, in the sun, sweating constantly. Because of that I drank lots of water and washed my face at least twice a day(at lunch break and after work).
My skin looked great. Then the summer job was over and I went back to my normal food habits and my normal skin care habits. I didnt drink much water and my face got a quick rinse in the shower in the morning. My skin went back to the way it was. Long story short, drinking a decent quantity of water makes my skin generally pretty clear and making sure to wash with a mild soap (I prefer Pure & Natural, a bar soap, or St. Ives Apricot Scrub) at least twice a day takes care of anything else that might try to pop up.
