The movie is strictly for Tabu fans. She plays the character of Kavitha Choudhary, a single, young, beautiful and successful lawyer. Through a common friend she happens to meet Krishna Patil(played by Manoj Bajpai), an unemployed youth who tries to woo her.
Krishna aspires to become a police inspector but fails to secure the job. He tries to revolt against a few corrupt police officers, politicians and builders but ends up losing his sister and brother-in-law in the ordeal. Four of his good friends also get murdered. In a bid to take revenge, Krishna takes the law in his own hands.
Kavitha feels sorry for Krishna’s situation. Being an intelligent lawyer, she saves his life on two occassions from getting killed in police encounters. She not only supports him in his mission, but also showers him with friendly warmth and affection.Krishna finds solace in Kavitha’s arms and eventually succeeds to get into a relationship with her. Their brewing romance sets the screen on fire. Having lost her father recently, Kavitha stays alone which gives an opportunity for Krishna to frequent her house and get intimate with her. Subsequently, he turns her pregnant. In the end, while Krishna dies fighting goons she goes ahead and bears his child.
Manoj essays the role of an angry, frustrated, unsuccessful youth convincingly while Tabu plays his love interest to near perfection. They share an awesome on-screen chemistry. They sizzle after getting drenched in rain in the song Hum Bhi Samaj Rahe Hai. Ofcourse, Tujhe Dekh Ke Dhadakta Hai Dil is a true masterpiece. Though the song is shot aesthetically, I still miss a heartbeat during the sequence when Manoj attempts to pursuade Tabu to have sex with him by gently hugging her from behind. When Tabu resists, Manoj gets impatient and pulls off her orange saree aggressively, kisses her navel, forces her on the floor, thrusts himself on her and has sex with her. Truly sensational!
