Ghajini - A big let down

My husband and I watched this movie on the day it released in the theatre. Luckily, I had the good sense of leaving our son behind at home. The movie is way too long. Aamir with his 8-packs presents emotions very well but he does look old in front of the very young Asin.

I enjoyed the first half which had good scenes especially with Asin but they took the do-gooder act of Asin too far. She suited her over the top, chirpy role and Aamir as the love struck rich lover and later as a bloodthirsty revenge seeker were very good. The villian was a let down.

The story needed better editing. The background score was too loud. The most repulsive part was the violence. The violence against the women especially the heroine was repugnant, gory and mindless. What is the need to show human beings being murdered like animals? The director disappointed there and hurt our sensibilities.

Jiah Khan looks very unappealing and hardly can act. Two songs were pretty good. I think a better edited movie with a director having more sensibility maybe Aamir himself would have been better.

A real disappointment.
