HJ does it again!

Hi ppl!

If ur wondering if u should buy this album…heres my review.

One thing ive observed is that HJ maintains the kinds of tracks he does.Very similar to kaakha kaakha , I feel the situations match!

1.Oru Maalai

I must say “Oru maalai” will definitely be a real big hit.It somehow reminds me of “Uyirin Uyire” and “Oru ooril” from Kaakha Kaakha. A very nice song…in the blues.Kartik again has done an exceptionally wonderful job.The way he carries his voice is just amazing.No1 else could have done this sonmg better.Soft BGM…very peaceful music.

I would give this song a 9.5 on 10.

2.X-machi

Sung by Mathangi and Nakul I think.Something like “thoodhu varuma” from KK.It’s a duet song…somewhat haunting(ive no idea until I c the video).Mathangi kind of emerges like the next Vasundhara Das or Sunitha Sarathy. Amazing western base! Nice base guitar work. Some of HJ’s typicals can b seen in this song.

This could be an 8 on 10.

3.Suttum Vizhi

This song is by 2 soothing voices…Sriram Parthasarathy and Bombay Jayshree. Very soft, peaceful music. HJ’s trademarks saxophone reappears in this song The line “Kan vizhittu Swapnam Kanden unnale” …is he catch line of this song.Very well picturisation as well! Sriram repeats his Pithamagan success! Bombay Jayshree…this time has to sing a few high notes this time…but very very well carried out.

10!!

4.Rahatulla

Starts like “En parvaiyo” from Sukran…total transition in the next few lines! An item number kind of song! A lil bit of DJing involved…none too jarring. Anupama has brought out the essence of this song with her strong voice. I wonder Rahatulla means??

Sounds like “Holla Golla” from Bombay(if u get wat im trying to say) towards the end.

8 may be!

5.Rangola

The folk based song of the movie. Sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Sujatha. I still feel 2 more singers have sung this song. Not very catchy when u listen to it the first time. May b u’ll get a hang of it once the video comes out.

I’ll give this a 7.

Sutum vizhi and oru maalai are the main attractions of this movie. Im surprised Kay Kay hasn’t sung in this album and even that Bombay Jayshree hasn’t given a solo number.

A very good album on the whole. Think HJ is taking a break after Anniyan!
