Ghajini music is out!And me being a great fan of Surya couldn’t resist buying the casette..Well it is harris next big project after anniyan..There are only 5 songs in the album!!(quite disappointed..I expected some more!!)
Now for the review:
Oru maalai(karthik) I have heard this song 10 times and im still hooked to it!!This song is the pick of the album.The simplicity of the song clicks. Karthik has been my favourite right singer from boys and he does it again! The lyrics are simple and appealing!!The song starts like a western one.. and then a humming(that humming is really cool!). Then comes the song. The lyrics (i have to mention it here)

azhagana ilai uthir kalam sattru tholaivilae aval mugam partheen ,
angae tholainthavan nanae. (really good lyrics! and u understand them when u hear it for the first time) Harris music, the beats & karthik’s voice everything blends really well!! the chorus in the middle is also good.Karthik’s voice is very normal( that makes the song appealing!)Thank god!Harris didnt use any North indian singers.They would have killed the lyrics
RAHATHULLA(anupama): Well! this one starts like a melody! and then it turned out to be another western number!I dont understand the lyrics .(it goes like rahathulla..rasikkira thulla)I need some more time to decode.. The song is ok! A very typical western song, which you find in most of the movies!
RANGOLA(Shankar mahadevan & Sujatha)This is a typical folk number.Reminds me of the rendakka song from anniyan.Nothing special! The usual beats and the usual folk tune! But its worth listening to(esp coz I like sujatha’s voice...).A normal folk number.
X-MACHI(nakul & madangi) A typical hunky song!It will be a item number.. I guess!It reminds me of thoodhu varuma.Nothing unusual about the song.It has all the ingredients of a western dance number.Same old beats and instruments.This one can be ignored
SUTRUM VIZHI(sriram parthasarathy, bombay jayashree) Another beautiful melody from HJ.It didnt appeal me when I heard for the first time.But it has started to grow on me. Sriram parthasarathy belongs to the mano, unni krishnan cadre.He is very good at melody.HE is supported well by Bombay jeyashree.The lyrics are also good!

On the whole, its a very good album.Harris very own.And I feel its better than anniyan. Anniyan sounded like a shankar’s product rather than harris. But ghajini is typically Harris.Cant wait to see the movie.Im expecting this album to make waves like kaakha kaakha..
