Ghajini's greatness

So many different concepts have been experimented in Tamil films. These concepts range from Split, Multiple Personality Disorders to Psychic patients. However, to make a film, a big success, the concept is very important. It’s not only the concept, but also the direction.

Ghajini, which has recently struck the Kollywood screens has made it big at the box office. The Surya starrer film had an equally huge opening like Anniyan or ChandraMukhi. I saw this film, it was superb. The director has made the best efforts to bring out a completely new concept.

The Story...

Sanjay Ramaswamy ( Surya) is a very rich & successful businessman who owns a cell service provider MNC ( Multi National Company) named AirVoice. He is very ambitious & has an aim of establishing 5 crore connections in Chennai alone. He accidentally falls in love with Kalpana (Asin). He reveals himself as a normal poor man, namely Manohar to her. He impresses her & she falls in love with him. But, then, once, when Kalpana is travelling in a train, she sees small girls being transported to Mumbai to be sold. She rescues these girls & also gets the gansters involved, arrested. She is being targeted by the Head of the Gansters, Lakshman.

She is killed by these gansters & Sanjay, gets hit badly on his head, trying to rescue her.

Sanjay, develops a peculiar disease. He suffers from Short Term Memory Loss, where, he cant remember anything more than 15 minutes. So, he keeps shooting photos of the people who killed his lover. He also takes photos of his flat, staff, etc to remember them. He tatooes the phone numbers of the gangsters on his body too! He is also being helped by a medical college student, Chitra( Nayantara).

Finally, Sanjay, kills Lakshman & his twin brother, in a brutal fight in the climax. The climax requires special mention. Here, the director, Murugadoss, has used stunt cam very well. The stunts & fight scenes are breathtaking.

The acting by Asin, Surya are great. I felt there could have been a better heroine for Nayantara.

The menacing looks of Surya are good & adds thrill to the film. The villian has also done a good job.The comedy of the movie comes from Asin & Surya. here, Sanjay, is being chased around by Asin for trivial things. Looking from the view point of the Managing Head of an MNC, it looks funny.

The music, is great. Hey, I meant the background score. It’s cool. The songs which are good are Sutrum Vizhi & Oru Maalai.Harris Jeyaraj has delivered yet again.

Thats all about this film. Signing off.
