Till the year 2000, I was using the Gillette razor(made of stainless steel) and any ordinary blade would fit into it. It used to give a comfortable, painless shave, when compared to so many other razors. In fact, it was bought by my father exactly 83 years ago. It came into my hands when I was 16 - it was in the year 1967. I used it till 2000. Even now, it is as good as almost new, totally without any rust.(See the photos attached)
In the year 2000, my son brought me a Mach 3 razor(with 3-blade cartridge) and asked me to use it. To my surprise, I found it the best I ever came across. The shave was the closest, smooth and it was very pleasant too. And thereafter, I never had to try another brand.
The main features of the 3-blade cartridge is that it not only ensures a close, comfortable, painless and pleasant shave, but also it gives the same sensation when you shave in the opposite direction of the hair growth. While using other razors, I find traces of blood oozing out from the pores of the skin, while shaving in the opposite direction, but with Mach 3, it was a forgotten thing.
The cost is a little bit on the higher side, but when you compare the number of shaves you can have with it, it works out cheaper than all other blades available in the market.And, that’s how I have been using it for the last decade and a half.
