Worth a shot ?

Launching Vector+ was a well thought and executed move by Gillette. The idea was to make it available to all the shavers who think high of Gillette products(sensor, mach3) but find it a little expensive than they can afford. The pricing was just right. Same as most other twin edge blades. The promotions were enough to create the anxiety. Most of us were vexed though by the ’’push clean facts’’ blocking the cricketing stats during india’s endeavors. But anyway the message was delivered. But there is one field where the giant failed to live upto the expectations, which were’nt very high anyway. The product is a failure. The product was mainly based on the fact that it provides a scrapper between the blades to push out the stuck hair and eventually increase the usable life of the blade. Unfortunately in more than one cases I saw that after my friend pushed it, the thing refused to go back in. The plastic scrapper got stuck at an end between the blades. It may not have pushed out any hair from within but sure it wont let anything go in from there. Other than that the hairs strangely get accumulated below the lower bladebetween the blade and the frame and obstruct any further shaving. Thus the blade is forbidden from use if u need to remove the load you have accumulated over say a week. Otherwise keep some antiseptic handy. The blades give a flexible hold but apparently too loose. May not touch you always at the right angle. Specially painful for weekly shaves. The good part though is the blade quality. Its sharp and lasts quite a few shaves. Overall I would prefer to pay a little extra and use sensor excel over vector. And the public must have thought the same as Gillette had to give away the vector at unbelievable prices. 29/- for a razor+blade. If that is not what u call cheap , how about this razor+blade+2 extra blades for 49/-. But these offers are only to encourage first time buyers and the real test is the longevity. The 40% cuts in the price are not going to help unless they improve onthe quality and the flawed design. Nobody will repeat purchase if made to feel that the first buy was a mistake, however low the price be, also keeping in mind that the offs are not sustainable for the company(if they are then u know how much the loot us). So finally, you want to go for a trial, this is the time. Or if you are happy with what you have already, be happy.
