Gionee Pioneer P4 features a 4.5-inch screen, I never thought that I would be able to use again or go back using smartphone smaller than 5-inch, holding the device gave me the feeling of ‘oh I missed this kind of handy-dandy phone’, and made me think this size will never go out of style. The built is pretty solid and sturdy. It doesn’t creak and groan when pressure is applied, though it weighs heavier than the usual android phone. The matte-finish back plate and curve edges gives rubbery feel – and I like it, ang relaks sa kamay!
The phone’s power button and volume control are placed on the right side making it accessible thru right thumb and if you’re left handed, the point finger can do the task managing them. It’s actually a unique placement as we often see phones with buttons on both sides, anyway, whatever on their mind, it surely accomplished one thing, simplicity.
Performance, Display and Camera
The Gionee Pioneer P4 inspite of having a lower price point is a truly impressive powerhouse smartphone. It is packed with 1.3 Gigahertz quad core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and Mali 400 GPU. I actually underrated this phone as I am also reviewing an octa core device, but while using this quad core P4 reminds me the powerful and fast performance of MT6582, I think we can still rely and stick to quad core devices even until the end of this year.
