Girl Interupted is about a girl – Charlotte – who is admitted to a mental hospital although she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with her. While at the hospital she makes friends with Lisa – a girl who has been in the hospital for eight years. Lisa is completely mad and doesn’t really help Charlotte get any better. Charlotte only realises she has a problem when one of her friends from the hospital kills herself because of something Lisa says. This is a bit of a girls film really. I can’t see many men liking it. It’s a very thoughtful film, a bit slow in places but worth watching.
Lisa and Charlotte are played by Angelina Jolie and Winona Ryder and both parts are acted very well. In fact, all of the acting in the film is very good, no wooden players! Soundtrack, well I only noticed one song in it and it’s not your every day top of the charts song. This is a film best watched on your own I think. I enjoyed it more when I watched it on my own the second time. The first time I watched it I had men winging about how bored they were and I couldn’t concentrate on the film itself. Not a film to be watching when you are depressed either because it won’t help! The best time to watch it is on a Sunday afternoon when you’ve nothing to do and are bored – it will fill in two hours of your day which would otherwise have been spend sleeping.
