Trisha gets lost, basically, escaping from the argument between her mother and her brother. She is the little daughter of a divorced marriage, and her only consolation is Tom Gordon, the baseball player; he is, the light in her life, she thinks of him almost as some kind of guardian angel.
A little girl, lost in the woods. Sometimes darkness can make us think that some things are there, when theres really nothing there... but sometimes... things are there... its not our imagination. Something hiding...waiting...out there...in the dark, in the woods.
This book, I admit it, is not as scary as others (i.e. Desperation, or IT), but it is very good. Maybe the logical choice for a rookie in the Stephen King world.
