This is second in series of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or Millennium-II written by Stieg Larsson. Little background:- Stieg Larsson was a Swedish author, who published his trilogy and mind you, he was the best in thriller/crime fiction. Sadly he is no more and died in 2004. The original title of the book in Swedish is "Flickan som lekte med elden".
It gives a picture that in so called open minded and humane Europe existence of drug lords, sex trafficking is at so much core of the the politics and social level. It gives a little hint how government hires foreign spies who might be working against them in past just to keep eye on the counterpart. However traitors are traitors and no one can put faith in them. And just to hide a mistake how many lives can be jeopardized and how they can harm Governments in end.
Now coming back to plot of the Book Dag Svensson and Mia Johansson were writing a book on sex trafficking which involves police, drug lord, mafia and politician. Svensson was hired by Millennium to write articles on Sex trafficking and publish their book on the same subject. Suddenly when the Book was about to publish, both of them were murdered, in fact there was another murder of Nils Bjurman which suppose be Lisbeth Salander, s Guardian happens almost simultaneously.
The name "Zala" repeats again and again, though Lisbeth is the main suspect, Mikael Blomkvist didnt accept it and Millennium starts its own search, with police and Security company which was past employer of Lisbeth.
Climax is very gruesome and lot of unexpected happens. Lisbeth is very strong character and she is though very fragile physically but comes out very strong in end.Last part of the trilogy is The Girl who kicked the Hornets nest.In total an excellent read though too many characters and not easy to memorize especially for Indians as they seem very similar to one another.
Novel starts with Lisbeth love for Mathematics and she reads a fictitious book "Dimensions in Mathematics" which appeared so good that I started to search on net, eventually I found that their real publishers(Harvard press) denied publishing any such book.
Lastly I am not sure how many of us knows but I got to know from the novel that mathematical equations are also inspired from actual world and they have some meaning in practical life.
