Don’t just buy. Try and buy seems to be the new shopping mantra at gkboptical.com. The online eyewear company has developed an application called Virtual Try-On, through which site visitors can try on over 4000 sunglasses and spectacles with just a few clicks.
The Virtual TryOn tool is currently one of the most evolved virtual trial tools in India, and has been built using open source technology
Site visitors can select their choice of styles, brands or price range. All a user needs to do is use their photo to try on the eyewear. They also have the choice to use default face shapes.
You can drag and drop to move the glasses on your face, or even resize them.
If users like certain frames/sunglasses on their face, they can save up to 9 different looks, and even share it with their family and friends using social media channels like Facebook.
Quote from CEO, Dhruv Gupta, “The intention behind building this application is to guide the user through their experience and enable them to virtually try eyewear before they buy; just like they would in a retail outlet.”
Further Dhruv said, “The virtual try-on was developed to make online eyewear shopping easy and fun for everyone on our site. And it’s open to use for anyone. It does not require login or signup. The application is always evolving, based on user feedback. Our team keeps thinking of new ways to make it better.”
The Virtual Try-On application was soft launched in October, and is already being used over 1500 times daily, and growing. To try it, log on to https://gkboptical.com/tryon
