You know pals! till a week after I saw this movie, I was in complete awe of it. I knew it for sure that this movie is going to create a rage at the academy awards and so it did. I strongly feel that the movie deserved all the accolades it got and may be even more than just 5 oscars. Though there was another favorite one pretty close (No No No for god’s sake not that TIGER’S CROUCH but my all time favorite -Mr Easy Pants -The Tom Hanks himself). I would have been thrilled to see him holding that trophy once again in 3 successive years but then believe it or not Russel Crowe blew the daylights out of everyone in the movie.
This movie had the most amazing sets (Done by an Indian --mind you), death defying stunts, unbelievable costumes, breathtaking music, some superb acting, stunning direction (Hats Off Ridley)and Russel Crowe himself. Wow those fight scenes can still give me goose pimples...
Also, I frankly believe that there was not much of a competition except for Cast Away... and till the very last moment I was not sure as to who to choose...Tom or Crowe... you know Tom did a brilliant brilliant job in the movie... we all know its not easy to make people hook on for 2hrs 45 minutes to see nothing but just one actor.. His acting, the direction made sure that at no point in time you felt bored or felt like having been given over dose of one thing.... Thaz the greatness of the man
But to cut the long story short..folks ..I guess mera no. 1 would still have been the gloating GLADIATOR....
