We bought a Glass Gas Stove from GLEN Official Store. It has been 2 years and the Glass Burst or I would say EXPLODED(Because the sound produced was equivalent to an explosion and Glass pieces fell as far as 8 feet away) all by itself around evening even when the Stove had been in Off mode since 7 AM in the morning.
When we usually go to buy a product every salesman usually informs Sir/Mam This is the best top product we have and selling like a hot cake but what we wouldn’t be informed that it might explode at any moment even if unused for almost a day.
We reached out to GLEN support for what exactly has happened? Whether It’s really the Glass Problem or the models themselves may have some defects in valves which may build up the heat pressure and can cause the Glass Explosion.
GLEN CUSTOMER CARE RESPONSE:
`We are using toughened glass in the cooktop but it is not UNBREAKABLE, `
It may break because of a sudden change in the temperature, due to the impact of some object falling on it instantly, it may break at a later stage because of the impact or because of the stresses in the glass. As the glass has tampered whenever it breaks, cracks will appear or it will shatter into small pieces, and that is why it is called safety glass and used in all the automobiles and consumer durables`
"Sudden change in temperature"?=> REALLY?
So Did anyone put the Gas Stove in a Freezer and then light it up for cooking? Or Did we bring it from Antarctica’s Cold Temperature to Delhi’s Hot Atmosphere?
Furthermore, This happened in an Indian city which is very much famous for its constant temperature range - Bengaluru
"due to the impact of some object falling on it instantly"=> No Object fell on it instantly, Instead, It just burst on its own.
Now, Glen is ready to replace the glass after collecting some additional payment but now there is another issue that `Dear Customer, You have shared the copy of Challan and not Invoice`.
We have shared the same Invoice which Glen’s Official outlet has provided which clearly states "Challan/Invoice".
Furthermore, their Official outlet forgot to put the date of the purchase while they were eager to swipe the payment from the card. But We are even more concerned with the family’s safety instead of the payment issues or the refund/replacement issues.
What do you think, It wouldn’t explode tomorrow after replacing the Glass? Won’t be the same reason will occur tomorrow that the temperature change or glass stress that again it exploded?
There may be other Brands/Companies which provide some good stuff as well but with GLEN this is the experience with the product and after-sales service.
It is not about the money it’s about the safety of our family.
