Stylish products but needs improvement in service

Glen belongs to that class of brands that snag your gaze immediately thanks, to its contemporary styling. Whether youre looking at a gas stove, a chimney or a mixer grinder each piece strikes a balance, between style and solid construction. Having spent the two years with Glen kitchen appliances my review draws on experiencea mixture of both strengths and shortcomings.

Lets start with the side. Glens design and overall look are genuinely topnotch. I went ahead. Bought a Glen threeburner gas stove along, with a chimney and both instantly give my kitchen a premium vibe. The stove feels sturdily built; the burners are efficient. The glass top has stayed completely scratchfree after months of daily cooking. The chimneys suction power is impressively strong. It does a job of keeping oil and smoke out of the kitchen. I find the controls refreshingly simple. The noise stays below that of many other brands Ive encountered.

Another perk of Glen is that its products sit at a price point when lined up against rivals, like Elica or Faber. You end up with that vibe without having to shell out a fortune. On top of that the installation crew arrived on schedule. The technician was courteous walking you through every detail of the setup.

However the experience hasnt been flawless. The first major hiccup I encountered concerned the chimney filters. Even though I tended to them regularly they got jammed within a months. When I called customer support it took days before a technician finally turned up. The replacement component wasnt stocked locally. I ended up waiting two weeks. That sort of holdup is downright irritating especially when the product is relied upon every day.

One more gripe is that sparepart availability and aftersales service feel hitormiss depending on the region. Some customers get a reply while othersmyself includedend up waiting chasing the issue through multiple followups. I also own a Glen mixer grinder; it generally works fine. After a year it began to emit a rattling. The service centre swapped the jar. The odd noise still pops up now and then.

In the durability arena Glens offerings are serviceable though they fall short of excellence. They tend to hold up for a year or two before problems start to emerge. I feel the firm ought to concentrate on boosting longterm reliability and tightening quality control.

Overall Glen delivers stylish wellperforming products. Its aftersales service is a weak spot. If you happen to find a service center, in your area youll likely be pleased. Otherwise even a minor repair can stretch into a waiting period.

With its flaws Glens design and functionality still strike me as appealing. If kitchen aesthetics matter and youre after features, without paying a premium Glen makes a choice. If reliability and swift service are what you value most you might want to compare brands before buying.

Strengths(the bits):

Alluring and stateoftheart designs

Delivers performance while remaining a breeze to operate.

When juxtaposed with the cost structures of brands its pricing emerges as affordable.

Gas burners delivering toptier efficiency with a chimney suction that ensures a strong draft.

Potential drawbacks:

Customer support drags on. Its quality flips unpredictably.

Spare parts sometimes take a while to source.

A number of products tend to see their efficiency drop, after one, to two years.

There’s room to improve the durability.

Rating: 3.8, out of5

Would I recommend Glen? I would, . Id proceed with cautionits design and performance shine while its service record and longterm reliability fall short.
