The call comes from a number 522-332-6050(my phone shows it is from Lucknow) - however, the party other side says they are based out of Mumbai. There is a lot of noise in the background - seems like a call-center(or a bazaar sort of) where everyone is busy getting their next "bakra".
They confirm with you on your current experience, salary and location - typically, to gain confidence of the candidate that they have done proper homework and know a lot about you. This is not the case - mostly because they just pick up their prospective "bakra" from some other job portal(in my case - it was from Naukri.com). The lady who I spoke with was talking so fast. as if she has a paper before her and she is just reading it out.
It was very obvious that they follow a well designed pattern - after the initial(well scripted) discussions you will be put on hold for 2/3 minutes and you will be told that a senior manager of their team would be talking to you soon. They consider you are in their net if you haven’t dropped off thus far.
The statements such as - "we have 3 job openings for your kind of experience one each in Singapore, UK and Hyderabad, would you be interested to explore" - sounds outright ridiculous and funny at the same time. How(and why) on earth they have studied my resume in such great detail and found match around the globe and have reserved those openings for me for a fee worth few thousand rupees?
I promised to pay them one month salary after getting the offer letter(that will be in lakhs and not few thousands) - I was even willing to put that in writing in a judicial bond. The call dropped. fooooh!
