Gmail is the best mail service because this is only very much faster then all other mail services and more an advance feature is provide and many feature an automatically working as per users.
I have also gmail account . First time a made an account in gmail so that day I feel is very easy to use and very easy to understand. and more powerful feature with secured(SSL).
Now we are using android phones so we connect our phone to gmail account and gmail is fetch all the personal detail and store in our account and the most point if we loss our then we will get easily our data with loosing.
So this is very good and nice mail service
