Two Cancellations and failure to inform and two flight delays made me buy Go Air Tickets instead and I am happy I have done that as I have reached safely and in time.

It is time to forget about AIR DECCAN as an Airline and treat it as Bus service for some segments where they are the only ones flying.

GO AIR-No blues to the blue skies.

Let me not go ga ga about Go Air because I have traveled only twice on this airline and it has just arrived. Rather Go Air is a comfortable and better Airlines than Air Deccan in the same segment of Low Cost Carriers and the following were clearly visible which when compared to another LCC Air Deccan.

Bookings and Reservation: Quick and without bugs

It took just 4 minutes to make a clear reservation on the Internet where as it took me four hours including waiting calls of 40 minutes to revert back my coupon on Air Deccan which got cancelled. The generation of ticket is the biggest bug in Air Deccan which was quite smooth on Go Air.

Ground Service-Quite professional and Courteous

The Check in, the Security call and Boarding announcement was well in time and the staff were present and supporting as well. This is where it scores way ahead of Air Deccan who think that you are dead in the Airport and the last ten flights that I have taken have all got delayed or cancelled and you have to wait like a deaf Dead man. Mostly you are provided AIR bridge service and even if not the Bus service up to the flight is far better and more comfortable than Air Deccan.

Flight Schedule-Well on Time

Air Deccan flight to Chennai is at 16.35 and Go Air is at 16.20. I had booked on Go Air and my Customer on Air Deccan on 3rd February.. Go Air announces boarding at 16.00 and The flight starts right on time and reaches Chennai at 17.20.Air Deccan flies after 80 minutes delay which is not even informed to passengers as there are no Air Deccan staff in Boarding area. So I had to wait for my Customer at arrival for two more hours.

My return flight from Chennai was on Air Deccan on Friday which got cancelled and they failed to inform. I had to go to Airport and come back home and fly the next day on Go Air but on dot. The reason for this is that Air Deccan operates too many sectors with limited flights and the delay chain causes havoc on Customers’ schedules and appointments.

Flight service-Go air comfortably

With AIRBUS 320, you can’t ask for more. The flight is less noisy and hassle free compared to Air Deccan’s ATR which by the amount of usage are sure to cause lot of snags as well as safety problems soon. The Air Hostess at least gives us a smile at a cost as you need to pay for your snacks like other LCC. The addressing system is also far better because they have hired experienced staff. Landing and take off was not smooth. There is lot more space for towing our luggage in.

Network Coverage; Just picking

Go Air is operating 14 sectors now which is increasing by another 14 from February 15. Air Deccan is operating on a massive network of 40 plus sectors including peripheral sectors which has given them edge.

It is simply great that Indian skies have been explored like never before and it has helped Corporate to save lot of money and time with so many new LCC which have sketched the skies.

The Price-It keeps coming down.

At last, we the customers are not being flinched by the Airlines because AIRFARE has become most unpredictable like Onion Prices but are getting cheaper by the day. Both the airlines charge sub 2000 for sub 1000 km distance which is welcome.

Move over Indian Airlines and Jet Airways if you cannot play affordable to the Customer, there are quite a few which want to take the chunk of the cake –Spice Jet, Kingfisher airlines, Paramount Airways, Jagsons, Go Air and Air Deccan and the list does not end there.

What are the major concerns due to the growing number of Low cost Airlines?

1. Most importantly the Airports have become like Bus Stands and Railway stations with thousands of people flocking the Airports early morning which results in insufficient staff, space and equipment to deal with the problem.

2. The security in the Airports has becomes really vulnerable with poor attention.

3. There are long delays in services as well as big queues out there.

4. There is not enough infrastructure in most Airports to support so many flights landing and take off.

5. Safety of the passenger has become a very serious concern which may become a threat in few months time.

6. You don’t have to study Einstein theory to grasp that Quality is inversely proportional to quantity which has resulted in loss of standards.

Hope that Authorities are listening because the balance has to be right for growth of Air Aviation in the right direction.
