Hi friends,
Am just back from a short pune trip 2 days. Both onward and return journey on Go Air. The experience was better than I had expected after reading the negative reviews here.
I had booked the tickets for the Chennai-Pune return flights for April 14th and April 17th by using credit card on https://goair.in website. The booking process was very smooth. And the amount charged on my credit card was exactly the same amount that was mentioned on the website.
Since I couldnt go on that date, I called up the Go Air customer care on 10th April and asked them to postpone the itinerary to April 30th and May 2nd. They asked for the same credit card that I had used to book the tickets for the rescheduling fee of Rs.350. Since I had applied for an upgradation of credit card, my current card stopped working and so they couldnt do anything. But they were kind enough to suggest me to go to the airport if it is nearby and pay the amount in cash. Since the airport was on the way to home, there was no problem in rescheduling.
The chennai-pune flight looked like a used Indian Airlines flight and was poor with some vibrations. But after it went into the clouds, all the vibrations disappeared and I slept nicely. The pune-chennai flight was a new aircraft and was even smoother. I couldnt hear a thing once it took off. Again a good sleep.
Overall for the money you pay, its a very good flight. Except that the passengers behave like bus/train passengers. As soon as the flight puts on its brakes and slows down, they take off their seat belt and start searching for their belongings in the cabin baggage.
Finally, Go Air will go places if they maintain their on-time record like this. Already in excess of 99%.
