I reserved two confirmed Delhi-Srinagar return
tickets
from Go Air on the 7th of February 2006. The travel dates were 22nd and
24th May 2006. As a part of there promotional schemes, as the
advertised
on the local newspaper through full page ads, I happened to get all the
tickets free of cost just paid the airport taxes, which is about Rs.
884.00. I considered myself very lucky as these days its very common to
get free tickets from these budget airlines. ( I planned a vacation just because I got FREE TICKETS)
On 7th of March they informed me that the flights are cancelled. On calling their customer service
they
informed me they will compensate me by providing 2 free Delhi-Mumbai
return tickets, I was still happy. Now after long exchange of mails and
telephone convesations, they informed me on 18th of March that they
will
just refund me the money I paid as airport tax, thats too after two
weeks
time. This is absolutely unfair and unacceptable.
Consequences : Depending on their commitment and having confirmed
bookings
I have already made necessary travel arrangements, booked hotels and
transport their at Srinagar, as thats peak tourism time there.
On being informed about cancelled flights I had to book the same
tickets
through Jet Airways and Air Deccan. Since I did not book the tickets
through Jet and Air deccan early, I had to pay much more than what I
should have paid if booked well in advance. It Sucks!
