Visiting Goa? here are some tips...

Mode of commutation:

1) Flights are available from Bangalore to Vasco for as low as 1000rs + tax (850)… .if booked now… Check out https://indiflight.com/ You can then rent a car or a 2 wheeler like Activa here..   2) Trains.. (Are slow and take more time.. .but more comfortable than buses) Available from Bangalore to Vasco https://indianrail.gov.in   3) Book cabs… Tata Indica... RS 5.50 per km…. Approx kms you will spend from Bangalore is around – 1300/1400 kms…   4) If you have own car, Hire a driver for few days.   5) Can opt for some Tourist packages … No idea on these though You can check https://goa-tourism.com/vacations.html for govt packages after reaching Goa.

Hotels:   Government owned lodges and cottages : https://goa-tourism.com/   I would recommend Calangute Residency and Colva Residency if you want to stay near beaches. I hv always done booking after visiting it … You can call up and check if there is any online way of paying… Or if you can mail the dd.   If you want to stay in cities.. .then Panaji residency is good.

Food: Most places have south Indian restaurants.. but Kamat hotel in panaji is the best.

Beaches to visit

1) Calangute beach… The best in goa… Very very beautiful beach.. Gets crowded in the evenings. .but mornings and early evening (3 to 4:30) is very nice.. lots of sports.. . a.       Motor boating (charge around 100rs per person)… Shallow waters and with a driver and 2 persons… b.      Then there is para sailing (1000rs per 2 persons)… Great water view. U get tied to a boat with a parachute and just run a few feets on the beach as the boat picks up and you sail around in the sky .. about 3 -4 mins for a circle of the beach.. Then while landing too u hv to just run a few feet and stop.. totally safe and enjoyable one.. . c.       There is also Dolphin watches.. Depends on ur luck but most times can spot atleast one or 2 dolphins in the sea. .. Good if you hv time. Charge 500rs per boat.

2) Colva beach: Not so crowded .. . Nice picturesque beach. There is a beach resort too... Hang on here and enjoy the evening sunset

3) Anjuna beach: Close to Calangute beach. .this is not a beach actually.. U get the view of the sea from atop the hill and you can climb down and get into the rocks over the sea. Very nice time to spend on the rocks with water splashing on you.

4) Arambol beach.. need to walk some distance from the road to reach the beach. Very very green forest surroundings.. Very nice beach. Not many visit this though as its quite far.

Others:

Fort Aguada: Beautiful view of the beach. The fort is an old one and looks good.   Dona Paulo view of the harbour Very good view of the Marmagoa harbor. You can climb the hill through steps.. do motor boating etc. Worth a visit.

Basilica Of Bom Jesus – Old church here .. Have a 400 yr old relic here. Opposite this is another church and museum.

Panaji shopping Shop for cashew nuts.. Fenny (alcohol J) and just roam around the market.

Panaji river cruise Is really good. Opt for the govt one at 6:30. .Beautiful sunset view and great goan music and dances.. you will enjoy this one.

If you have time, {these places are far from the beaches and towns} Dudhsagar Waterfall and the national park there… I haven’t been there... but the place is supposed to be really good. . Waterfalls are not crowded and it’s very scenic.

Enjoy your stay and share the snaps here!!!
