Because, there is no question of disliking Goa.


Few know it as ’’Pearl of the Orient’’ and few accept it as ’’Tourist Paradise’’, it is located on the western coast of India known as Konkan.


With reference to Purana’s, Lord Parshuram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu created Land of Goa. Over the centuries its been ruled by various dynasties like Rashtrakutas, Chalukyas, and most famously the Portuguese who have been rulers of Goa for almost 450 years and has deep cultural impact on the state. It has unique lifestyle formed with mixed impact of communities mainly Hindus and Catholics with minor representation of Muslims and other religion.


Goa with much more than scenic beauty, beaches and the wonderful architectural display of its temples, churches and old houses which made it a firm favorite with travelers around the world; it has its own personality resultant of unique history, rich culture and some of the prettiest nature that India has got.


The state is covered by state of Maharashtra on the north, with the state of Karnataka on the south, east and on the west it has been touched by Arabian sea forming the magnificent coastline for which Goa is world famous.


Goa has abundant water resources mainly rivers like Mandovi, Zuari, Terekhol, Chapora, Sal and Talpona which forms the beautiful inland waterways adding beauty to the land. State capital Panaji (Panjim) is located on the banks of the Mandovi river and the other famous towns are Vasco, Margao, Mapusa and Ponda. Transportation is taken care by international airport located at Dabolim. It has good network of Train as well as bus network forming comfortable traveling conditions for the state.


The coastline has abundance varieties in seafood - prawns, mackerels, sardines, crabs, lobsters and are popular with the locals and the visitors but the most popular dish among Goans is Fish curry and rice. English is common language with locals speaking Konkani and Marathi.


Goa symbolizes true secular land which India is famous for. Its warm, friendly and fun filled environment is result of its long and an unbroken tradition of religious harmony. Festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Christmas, Easter and Id are celebrated with equal enthusiasm.


Tourist season begins with September and streets of Goa remains busy with people all across world till April, in this period weather is dry and you can experience cool breeze all along the places. These conditions becomes hot and humid in the months of May and June which is followed by heavy downpour in rainy season.


This place has something for everyone-


For sightseeing you have many options but most favorites are Dudhsagar Water Falls, Aguada Fort, Kesarval Spring, Mayem Lake, Museum of Christian art at Rachol, Archaeological Museum and Portrait Gallery at Old Goa, Archives Museum of Goa at Panaji.


For Beach lovers you have best possible options, Calangute, Colva, Dona Paula, Miramar, Anjuna, Palolem, Vagator, Arambol, Agonda beaches gives you never ending shore length to walk on.


For religious travelers there are places like Mangeshi Temple, Shantadurga Temple, Shri Bhagavati (Pernem), Rudreshwar Temple at Harvalem, Morjaee temple at Morjim, Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, Church of St. Francis of Assissi, St. Augustine Tower, Viceroy’s Arc (All at Old Goa), Church of St. Alex Curtorim, The Church of Mae de Deus at Saligao (Bardez), the Church of St. Ana at Talaulim Ilhas, Church of Our Lady of Rosary.


If you are interested in wildlife you can definately visit Bhagvan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, Bondla Forest, Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, Choden.


All these with good hoteling facilities ( From five star to local bungalows), entertaining night life (quality pubs and discs) , Nice roads with duty free alcohol and some great local cusines makes it heaven for the visitors.
